But before I proceed with this month's books, I am taking my cue from my bookish Buddy and listing the backlog that is my reading for a couple of months running, as follows:
- The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst - [August] untouched
- An Artist of the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro - [August, carried over to September] untouched
- The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - [September] untouched
I think I've gotten over the reading slump I endured through most of the last few weeks, thanks to the
But anyway! Here are the books that I did manage to read for September:
- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote - A family's massacre. 3/5
- The Bridge of San Luis Rey by Thornton Wilder - Beautiful writing. 4/5
- The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell - currently reading
I am so geared up to finish de Zoet by this weekend so I can finally, finally start on the October books.
Here they are:

- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - TFG's F2F book for the month of October
- The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky - Aldrin and I were supposed to buddy read Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies this week, right after de Zoet, but he loves Perks so much that he's willing to postpone reading Lahiri just so I could find time to squeeze it in my already-hectic reading schedule. What is book-shoving. :P
- The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - I really, really, really need to read this already. Like, really really.
So, October. Let's do this? :D

LOL! Listing the backlog is trending! Oh well. I guess it's natural that we go through such a time (and it doesn't make us less of a book lover).
BUDDY: It was you who made it a trend, hahaha! :D
Yay, Perks! May I shove it farther to the top, right above Pride and Prejudice? Haha.
ALDRIN: It looks like a fairly easier read than P&P, so maybe I can try reading them simultaneously? Haha, good luck to me!
Perks Perks PERKS! Hehe. hope you love Charlie, too. ;)
Odeng: Mukhang Triple-P ang peg ko this month ah: Pride and Prejudice and Perks!
Aw Perks. :D (Haha, ako na rin!) Yay!
Oh how we all have backlogs. :) I remember looking at my Goodreads reading goal and I know that I will probably not reach it anymore. I'm sure I won't. But still, I know I read a lot of good books this year, and I think I like that better than reading more books than I did last year. :)
Oh, you haven't read The Historian yet? Don't worry. You won't be able to put it down once you begin.
TINA: I completely agree. OK nang may backlog basta sulit naman ang ibang nabasa, right? :D
PETER: Oh, I've read it already. I should edit the post to mean I have to RE-READ it na. Hehe.
Since the movie's out, I wonder if it's best to see Perks at the big screen first before reading the book. Or maybe I just want to see Emma Watson so bad. :)
PERKS is love! <3
And yay, it's good to see those backlogs! I don't feel so alone haha! :D
READPLAYDREAM: I've made it a personal rule to read the book first before seeing the movie. :)
LYNAI: Oh, backlogs. Don't we all have (and hate) them? :)
